Losing My First 5 Lbs.

In my quest for weight loss, I have tried many different programs. I honestly want to lose the weight but I don’t think I believe in myself to accomplish the weight loss. I have to lose around 50 lbs. What a huge number, absolutely overwhelming.I told myself that this was the time it was going to work. I have heard many times that you have to be ready to lose the weight and take on such a task. I always thought I was ready. So why couldn’t I get through it? Each of may have many reasons that contributed to our failure, but I am tired of my same old reasons. How I am doing it.So, yes, I have only lost 5 lbs, but I feel like it is a start.

I take my children to school each morning and on the way home I park my car at Costco. (Costco is about one mile from my house.) Then when it is time to go get the kids, I leave early, walk the mile to my car and then go pick up the kids. It isn’t a marathon but it is a start, walking 2 miles a day.

I won’t go into a gym because I feel like you need to be skinny to go to the gym. I know that isn’t true and defeats the purpose of a gym but I don’t really care.

I don’t like it there.

I am also heavy, with large breasts and running is a killer. So I have started to run in short spurts during my walks to and from Costco. I just started running a few blocks and then walking the rest. My goal is to add a few more yards each day until I can run to and from Costco.

For meals I usually have a whey protein drink for breakfast. Low carb yogurt around 10, a small lunch like soup, fruit and ricotta, or a salad, and dinner. During dinner I try to cook fresh and healthy but some nights aren’t as good as others. I always lay off the cheese and shrink my portion sizes.

I will keep in touch with my progress and I hope in some way I can help you with yours.
